Can you refill an already filled prescription, if you're no longer covered b!

Question: Can you order a refill of a prescription if you're no longer covered by that insurance.

I filled a prescription a couple of months ago when I was working at a company and covered and I am not working there anymore.

Can I go and order the refill and still get the prescription filled for the co-pay amount? Do they check?

The Rx does NOT expire when your insurance does. Your insurance however will NOT cover the Rx. Almost all modern pharmacies have computer systems they run your name and Rx through in order to process the refill. It will come up that your insurance has expired. The Rx is still good but the insurance will not cover it. If, per chance, they do cover it then it's their problem. Although technically you are guilty of something akin to fraud, they most likely would not prosecute.

you will find that its against the law to do that. be careful.

You cannot get a refill if a refill was not in the original prescription. If a refill was prescribed then you can get a refill with the normal co-payment, since the original prescription is still in effect.
