Can hair growth cause itciness?!

Question: I mean, I haven;t shaved my legs in a while n i shaved them the other day. New hair has just started to grow back on my legs n my legs started to get itchy..

First i thought it was just coz i used hair cream on my legs to shave. ( i was out of shaving cream. Bite me.) i thought maybe its coz I was allergic to the hair cream. But its been a few weeks n i dun think thats it.

Theres no rash or anything. In fact my legs look normal. So I was wondering if new hair growing can cause irritation to the skin??

Shaving can have numerous side effects, including cuts, abrasions, and irritation. Many side effects can be minimized by using a fresh blade, applying plenty of lubrication, and avoiding pressing down with the razor. A shaving brush can also help. There are many products on the market to get rid of them, they commonly dry the affected area and some help to lift out the trapped hair(s). Some people choose to use only single-blade or wire-wrapped blades that shave farther away from the skin. Others cannot use razors at all and use depilatory shaving powders to dissolve hair above the skin's surface.

when you shave, the hair become sharp just like when you cut a pipe diagonally
so when you shave it to close to the skin, it leave a gap that the point of your hair that has been shave puncture your cloged skin, or it bend to puncture the wall of the skin.
that what makes those red irritation and itch.
