HELP: i have a cut and it might be infected...what can i do?!

Question: like 2 weeks ago i was shaving with one of those cheap razors and just above my ankle got cut,
i didn't notice until it started to bleed and sting cause of the soap, after that my mom put some Iodine (first aid antiseptic) and bacitracin (first aid anitbiotic ointment) and a band-aid,
and because of the band-aid it was kinda itching and i was kinda scratching with the band-aid on, i had i wear a band-aid cause i have to wear long socks for school, so in the afternoon i would take it off to clean it, the band-aid would get stuck on my skin so i have to pull to get it off and one day i got little bumps and like little cuts because of the band-aid and now i'm not using the band-aid, now the big cut dried up and the dried up thing fell off, but it still itches and its all red and kinda still has bumps
what can i do??
i'm still cleaning it with peroxide, iodine and antibiotic
beacuse of a cut like can i get my leg or that

It's probably not infected, from what you're describing. The red bumps and itchiness is probably an allergic reaction to the latex in the band-aid combined with irritation from all of the products you're using to "treat" it.

Don't use the peroxide, iodine, or the antibiotic ointment!!! Never use anything other than saline to cleanse a wound! A good rule of thumb is to only use something that you would put in your eyes. If it irritates your eyes, it will irritate your skin too.

Start leaving it alone and things will improve. Cleanse with saline if you do anything to it. It doesn't seem to need to be covered anymore, so please, just leave it alone!

If you have most of the following signs, it's likely infected.
Redness surrounding the wound, a noticeable amount of yellowish, thick-ish discharge, and pain and warmth in the surrounding tissues.

The normal healing process involves some redness and warmth around the wound and the scabs that you talked about.

I would also recommend you avoid all products with latex and mention this incident to your doctor next time you go. It's not necessary to make an appointment for this.

Hope it gets better!

go to the doctor if it has bumps around it. it is probably infested

GO to the doctor!! we can't help you here.. if it's a small cut, then it'll heal in a cuople of days, but you need to stop picking at it, because it will turn into a scar. if it's really that serious, call 911, or get your *** to a doctor.
