Extreme pain in my hip and lower back/pelvis?!

Question: For 2 weeks i have had extreme pain in my lower back. Between my hips and in my hip. To the point where it hurts to bend over, sit, stand, even breath at times. I saw my doctor a week ago. He has been sending me to therapy and my chiro to. I have been on medicine, anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxer, and pain med. None of which are helping. My doctor did an MRI and said that only thing it shows is early degenerative disease. I am only 34. I also had an accident last september, where i was thrown from a wagon and landed on my pelvis and flew back and hit my head. The x rays at the time said there were no fractures or breaks. I have had back pain ever since. BUT never like this. Im at my wits end really. I don't know what else to do.My chiro and my therapist have said that my hip keeps rotating, and this will cause pain. The problem is, they cant keep it where its supposed to be. Am i gonna have to live with this forever? Any suggestions or ideas. ?:(

DDD is degenerative disc disease, not a actual disease but part of the aging process. It started 25-30 years of age where the nice cushion between the vertebra start to dehydrate. The discs are like a donut, a tough outer shell inside is jelly, highly inflammatory material and as we move the discs act as shock absorbers. As we age 25-30 the nice soft jelly starts to dehydrate until at the age of 60-65 the jelly is hard and that is it. This is why you never see a Olympic Athlete over the age of 30. Some people will go from 25-65 with no idea what is going on except a loss in height, by a few inches. Other will hit 35 and be in serious pain! Why no one knows, some say some are more sensitive than other, others state their are some kind of nerves in the jelly? Not sure about rotating hips? However the best thing you can do is exercise to strengthen you back muscles. That means core strength exercise, so the corset around the abdomen is tight and they will help to hold the vertebra in place taking pressure off the discs. Ask a Physiotherapist for some exercises to start on core stability and then strengthen your back. Best of Luck

did you go to an orthopedic specialist.....i have had back pain for 20 yrs...it took 7 yrs to get the to do an mri....then i had a calcified lump the size of a softball on my spine....get a second opinion......

Ok I have seen thousands of back pain patients. The MRI does not see all. But most all. Try this. Ask your doctor to prescribe prednisone. You need a very high dose the first day and over the next few days the dose is tapered down. Over a three to five day period. A low dose will not help. Tell your doctor that some quack who probably does not know anything told you this on Yahoo answers. That should make him take it seriously. Try high dose prednisone.
