If your back hurts do you sleep on your stomach or back?!


Question: My back has been stiff the last couple of days.

you sleep on your back on the floor if you can.for a couple of days then it will start to feel better then you can go back to your bed.maybey it is time for a new matress for you.

Sleep on your back on the floor, hard surfaces are good for backs.

Use a hot pad or take a hot shower to losen up those stiff muscles. Do not take a bath, that will make it worse!

Try elevating your legs on a bunch of pillows, that might work.

Lie flat on your back with one knee raised and one leg flat. It might sound strange but try it, you'll feel all your back touching the surface you're lying on. Ive had a lot of back problems and that helps

I sleep on my side. but then that gets uncomfortable, so I switch to my back and then my stomach and then my other side. Basically, I just toss and turn when it get real bad, then I go to the chiropractor and am able to get some sleep for about a week.

I have had chronic severe back pain for 10 years. I sleep in the position that affords me the most relief--it is not always the same one, though. I word of advice: if you sleep on your side, PLEASE prop your knees apart with a firm pillow between your legs. This will align your spine the way it needs to be and in the long run, save you a lot of pain and suffering. Good luck to you; I hope it's not serious.
