Wouldn't mind some help or thoughts....?!

Question: Hey there.

For the past couple of weeks now, I have felt what I'd think as depressed. I can't say i've been depressed, so I really don't know or have any way to compare.

I've just felt down, not at all my usual chatterbox, smart *** self, tired, not at all hungry and now my hair is falling out.

I haven't been eating very well, so I assumed it was to do with a lack of nutrition or something.

It might just be me being a bit over reactive or something, but i'd just like to know if anyone has any ideas what this could be? Or if you've felt this way before and how to get out of it?

Its really horrible. It's gotten to the point i've put off Uni, snapped at everyone over tiny trivial things and felt like crying over the most ridiculous events.

Is there anyway this could be related to Trifeme, the birth control I am on? The timing with the beginning of this pill and my terrible mood seem to coincide somewhat.

So yes, any thoughts? Preferably ones that don't involve 'shut up you emo'.

The pill most definitely changes your moods, it also changes all your hormones sending them into a spiral, making you feel lethargic, moody, lack of appetite, snappy, tearful and the list goes on.. When I changed the pill I was taking to a different one, I felt so different, basically the same as how you feel, it lasted for about 4 months, until my body got used to the new hormones etc.. But I have a great G.P and she advised me to take a Multi B complex vitamin, it helped so much, I take it everyday and have had no depression or mood swings etc for almost a year now.. The chemist and some supermarkets have Vitamin B complex, make sure you get the one with all the B's included.. It will help you alot... Just remember to take it everyday, and by your next cycle, when we are normally feeling at our worst (its a few day before for me) you will see that you feel great, not snappy of moody etc...

mood changes are a very common side effect of oral contraceptives. Hair falling out might be a separate side effect of same, since hormones affect hair growth. discuss with your prescriber.
