Agonising back pain?!

Question: I have constant pain in my back but now and again it gets work. It is mainly just below my shoulder blades. The pains are really sharp but sometimes it hurts so much that i cannot move or walk. I dont know what to do. I have been taking pain killers, using deep heat and sitting on a hard back chair and it has been getting better but now and again it really hurts. I have never felt so much pain and the only thing i have done that could cause it is sitting with my laptop to my side for long periods of time. Could that really cause so much pain? What can i do to stop my back hurting so much?

Yeah sitting like that could make your back pretty sore. Here is a link that will help you figure out what may be wrong

Or for chronic pain here is a good site

Here is a great article you should read

But you may just want to get a better way to enjoy your laptop. Here is simple trick that may help relieve the pain when you do have it.
Fill a gym sock up with dry cooking rice
Tie off the end
Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds
Check to make sure it's not too hot
Apply it to where it hurts for 10 mins.

You can use it over and over as long as the rice stays dry. It's handy to have for muscle aches

Go to the doctor. Could be a bunch of things. A herniated disc. A muscle pull. Degenerative disc. Or early scoliosis. Only he can tell you with an xray. But if you keep on the pain pills its not good for you

You should see a chiropractor, or a massage therapist your muscle are tight from computer work. You will be surprised at the results.

if it is really bothering you that much, you should go see a doctor, and especially if its getting worse.

good luck s

Some yoga exercises which would help you:

Corpse: Lie on the floor with back on the floor. Relax and let your arms hang loosely by your side, palms downward and knees slightly outside. If you back hurts with your knees outside, you can bend them with feet flat on the ground. Inhale and exhale for few moments, releasing the tension from the body.

Cat Stretch: Crawl on all your fours keeping your back flat. Position your hands directly below the shoulders, fingers widespread and knees below the hips. Hold the head loose as you look down between the hands. Inhale and while exhaling, raise your back upward. Bring your chin close to chest to gaze at your navel and tailbone tucked below. Hold this pose and then return to the starting pose.
