cold sores/fever blisters/ herpes

all the same thing. If that is what you have you will have it for life. Things like fevers can cause them to come out, stress to the area (chapped lips) can do it as well. You can get topical stuff (abreva) to put on them to help them go away. If they get really bad you can get prescription herpes meds.

you can usually feel when they are coming. I kind of tingling feeling. Hard to explain. During this time and while you have them, Avoid sharing things like drinks, chap stick etc, as you can pass it on. Avoid oral sex as you can pass it on.

sounds like herpes

canker sore or fever blister, call your Dr. and get a Perscription

eewwww.....If it was/is a fever blister milk helps. Take a shot glass of milk, damp a small piece of a paper towel in the milk, and put the milk soaked cloth on the sore. If you're not laying on the sofa, you'll need to keep a bit of the paper towel in your mouth so it stays on. My mom always did this to my sister and I and it always seemed to work if we got a fever blister.

I asked my Gynecologist about cold sores and what causes them and she told me that there's no such thing. All mouth sores that form around the outside of the mouth are a form of herpes. It doesn't mean that you'll get sores on your genital area or anything though. Abreva is excellent for mouth sores. I'm not sure but I think you may need a prescription for it. Don't be embarrassed if you do have the herps. Most people have some form or another from kissing and don't even know it.

No, your girlfriend does not have herpes. You do. Good luck and best wishes.
