Does muscle have memory?!


Question: Yes! I was in marching band for 4 years and I played the flute. Your fingers have to learn to hit certain keys because we can't look at them and have to go fast. Its called muscle memory and really helps.

no, but it does indirectly. For instance, you touch something hot you naturally pull away... no thinking correct? This is because when you touch something hot your sensory neurons send a message to your brain saying "hey that's hot!! get away!" The brain than sends a motor neuron to command your muscle to pull away....

Sensory Neuron (feels the heat)---> Interneurons (Path between hand and brain)---> Brain (decision -----> Interneuron (path back to the hand) -----> Motor Neuron (pulls hand away)

gives you a nice respect for how quick your brain is able to function being that this all happens in a flash~!
