Question: My friend has been bitten by a sand chicken in the bush. It was in the shrubs and bit his leg. I don't know what to do and he says that he will get Telrores Virus if we don't compress it or something. We are in my house right now and weve called 911 but what can i do right now while we wait for the doctors to arrive?

i don't know of a Telrores virus (i studied microbiology and virology as a major). and what is a sand chicken? anyway, of the viruses i know, non is more dangerous than rabbies that's acquired from bites. clean the wound with tincture iodine (it'll help fight bacteria that may have entered).
Not much you can do.....wrap it up....keep the patient calm. Cool him down if his temperature rises..just be calm.

Your friend will be fine, but will be left with the unusual problem of being unable to eat pizzas on Friday afternoons and may occasionally take to singing arias from Mozart operas when the fancy takes them.
Cancel the 911 call.......if it's a red sand chicken that bit him....he is f.u.c.k.e.d.........say your goodbyes to him and call the coroner
Is it bleeding? if it is, take a clean towel or piece of gauze and apply pressure. Don't let the leg go above his heart or his head. That's dangerous if it does.
Lie him down and apply pressure. Make sure he's warm.
Avoid giving him medicine (asprin, Tylenol etc.) until the meds. come over and instruct you on what to do.
