Really bad stomach ache, help please!?!
Question: Yesterday, I got a stomach ache, it felt like someone was kinda twisting my stomach. Then this morning I got up and it was still there, but it was better, but in school it got worse and it still felt like someone was twisting my stomach and it felt "sour" like a lemon or something was stuck inside, if that makes sense. I ate lunch and it didn't seem to help or make it worse. I have acid reflux and I take Zantac 150 for it, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. But what do you guys think it could be? There is no way I am pregnant. And my period is due in about a week or so. I have a doctor appt. for tomorrow, if it doesn't get better, but any advice for now? Thank you!

I'm guessing its just really bad stomach cramps :(
You have my deepest sympathy. I get them and really bad back ache to go with it.
Id still go to the doctors just to be sure.

it could be period cramps. try sitting down with a hot water bottle of taking a warm bath to ease the pain.
I normally would suggest ginger tea or papaya enzyme tablets- but this doesn't sound like that kind of pain at all. About all I can suggest is try to relax so it won't hurt so much.

I wonder if this is the feeling I get. When you say your stomach, does that mean your actual stomach, up high above your intestines and reproductive organs? You say twisting but I have described it as a fist clenching and sqeezing my stomach. Sound familiar?
It usually isn't too long and I vomit. It feels as if my stomach contracts until it pushes the contents back up and out.
I was diagnosed with bile relux. It's like acid reflux but instead of acid being pushed into the esophogus, bile is pushed into the stomach. My doctor suggested a proton inhibitor like Protonix, Nexium or Prevacid. This isn't going to do you any good right now and you're seeing a doctor anyway but make sure you mention that "sour like a lemon" comment, that was what made my doctor initally suspect bile reflux, the taste of bile I would get. If the sourness is a taste that you're referring to it may be important.
For now I'd take an extra antacid.
It's always a good idea to sit down and make a list of your symptoms before going into the doctor as well as note any questions you have. It's so easy to forget a detail when you're in there sometimes feeling rushed.
