I'm a person of strict meditation and this is not something that is usual with meditation . in fact you should be sleeping a lot better with limited dreams . try mediating just before you go to sleep for about 10 to 15 minutes and clear your mind of every thing and don't think of any thing. i hope this helps

first off, it is the drug, and secondly, give yourself some time, in time, you'll be able to sleep

i don't think it would have anything to do with meditation

Practice some basic hypnosis. That's how sometimes I get to sleep when I'm unable to. Works like a charm.

Maybe, if you sit in certain poses it might cause some aches to your body. And your nightmares/dreams are your shattered up thoughts putting together a show, so one way or another those thoughts are something you might not remember but are in the back of your head. Try a few more positive thoughts, and maybe even watch a happy movie to sleep.
