My hand (and sometimes foot) on the right side keeps going numb...any Idea what !

Question: (I'm giving as much info as I can just in case) I'm 27 years old and left handed. I have (for about a two months or so) been going numb mostly just in my right hand. When I walk the dog, Play any video games, when I type, When I drive the car and when I try to sleep my hand will go numb. Sometimes it goes numb even when I'm just sitting watching TV. Also I go to the gym and use the eliptical machine. When I use it (usually after about 10 mins) my right hand and my right foot go numb. I usually continue my work out anyway. I don't know what to do or what it could be. My mother gets numb hands often and says that it is nothing to worry about but this is really getting bothersome. Please any advice will be great!!!

Sounds like something is wrong with your spine (disc pinching on nerve). You need to have it evaluated by either a doctor or chiropractor

i think it has something to do with your blood circulation you may have diabetes i would go and make an appointment with your family's doctor

You may have a pinched nerve. Go see a chiropractor and get it checked.

Carpel tunnel or pinched nerve. MD will tell you easily. good luck. Feel better soon.

Its sounds like RSI (Repetative strain injury). You do a lot of strenuous activities, driving the car, video games, and ill bet you sleep on your right hand side, and probably tuck your hand under your pillow or you sleep with it under you.
The rsi is probably a mild pull (sprain), I wouldnt worry, just go see your doctor.

It could be a number of things. Could be a pinched nerve, a lack of zinc and/or magnesium (or other nutrients), a prolonged lack of sleep, prolonged periods of stress, etc.

I listed the items above because I had numbness in my left hand and left foot 12 years ago (when I was 22). I ignored it for a bit, but in my case, I eventually felt numb in my entire left side (I'm right handed). I knew it could not be a pinched nerve as one nerve does not control the entire left side of my body. It went away, but returned 2 years later, so I started a battery of tests, including blood work, MRI, Spinal Tap and Evoked Potentials. These tests were at the request of my neurologist who I was already seeing b/c of my migraines. I also have to do various strength, balance and visual tests.

You may not need to do any of the tests that I listed above. I just want for you to become informed of the tests that are available if you go see a doctor. In my case, I was subsequently diagnosed with MS. Now I take medication 3 times a week and 10 years later I still hit the gym, doing spin classes and weights just as well as everyone else, if not better! This past winter I picked up Snowboarding and Ice Skating and I
