Auto Accident settlement question?!

Question: I was wondering how long do you have before you have to settle.

I was in an accident about 8 months ago, they totalled my car and I have a small tear in my rotator cup. It only hurts when I work out, but I take a pain releiver, and that seems to do the trick. That is about it, I decided not to get surgery because the Doctor gave me a time frame between 2 days and 6 months that I would not be able to lift weights. I am still waiting to hear something from State Farm. I have an attorney, only because they tried to settle with me for 250.00, and I am pretty sure I should be able to get more, I am sure not much more, but it kind of made me mad that they would not go over 250.00.

first off if your car was totalled they should be paying you the amount that your car was worth at the time of the accident, second you should be saying that you can no longer do your weight lifting because of the pain you are in because by you continuing to lift weights they( the insurance company) will say that your injuries might have to do with your lifting weights and its taking longer to heal because of that so if i were you i would say that you cant do your weight lifting anymore because of the pain you are in. $250.00? ha!! thats a joke, i cant beleive they offered that to you, dont settle for that you should be getting at least $50,000. and thats on the low end. Make sure you get yourself a good lawyer.

You have to hound them or your lawyer or both put some fire under their as*es! The statute of limitations I believe is a year ask your lawyer,or his paralegal receptionist

were you injured? did you go to the
hospital? + That is how they do it,
offer you the lowest settlement possible.
So let them know you were looking for
more, or get a lawyer involved

It can take months to reach a settlement. Keep all of your bills and medical statements so that you will get a fair settlement.
