Blood Test at the pain clinic... how specific do they get...?!

Question: ***If you can not provide your answers in a tactful, kind, informative way DO NOT BOTH ANSWERING... I will not tolerate HATE or DEROGATORY words***
I believe I will have my 6 month blood test/urine screen at my pain clinic on friday.
I do not use recreational drugs ie Weed, Coke, etc.. so I am not worried about the urine test.
However, I ran out of my Oxycodone 10 days ago and have been taking Tramadols. Here and there a friend has given me some Lortabs and I had two Oxycodones the other day. My friend also gave me one 10 mg methadone.
I have legitimate back pain ---diseased disc, scoliosis (very bad curve), fibromyalgia and chronic pelvic pain. I had a very bad run this month with pain and even had to go to the ER to get IV Dilaudid b/c my oxycodones were not working. My question is... on the blood test, is an opiate an opiate? Or are they going to see that I've been taking Lortabs, Tramadols, etc..?
Any suggestions on how I should handle this? Should I be honest? Pls help

An opiate is an opiate, regardless of brand name. A drug test cannot differentiate between morphine and heroin, for example. You need to be honest because you know you have a problem with dependence on pain meds. Pain or no pain, it is not possible that you take that amount of meds and not be dependent.

I have no idea what they'll test for, but I'm a firm believer in complete honesty with medical care providers. If they don't know what's going on with your pain, they can't understand the mix of painkillers you've got in your system, right?

Make sure they understand that you do not use painkillers recreationally but to function. Stress that they enable you to live a normal, or more normal, life, including work, shopping, cooking, child care, whatever is true.

This will help the staff see that you seek pain relief, rather than drugs. Huge difference.

Be honest. They probably won't question how you got them. You want to get better so don't worry about this.

I totally understand, really.
Opiates are opiates but he's going to see the level is all wrong. Better to be honest in the beginning. If you go to him with the problem of taking oxy as prescribed it's one thing but if you get "caught" he's going to tear your contract up and toss you out of the practice. I do not condem or critisize. I am a chronic pain patient and took oxycontin for several years. I know how hard it is to take it as prescribed and not run out too early. This is why I really think you should tell your doctor what happened and get off of it. Hon, it's just going to get worse. You ran out 10 days early? It's not going to be long before you go through your months supply in 10 days and have 20 days of begging narcotics from friends just to survive the wirthdrawal.Soon your friends will have no narcotics left It's a nightmare with no end. This is no way to live. You deserve more from life than spending weeks each month in withdrawal and your heart can not take it indefinately.
There are pain meds that are as effective but easier to control their use. This doesn't have to mean dealing with your pain with no meds. Please, talk to your doctor and be honest with him. so he can get you on something you can manage. I can't tell you how many people I've talked to at my support group who could not take oxy because of this problem. It's almost impossible to take it as prescribed.
Take care and good luck. Please just be honest with the doc. I swear it will be alright.

Tramadol (Ultram) is not a opiate/narcotic-it is in the SSRI class.

I assume by your question that they are testing levels of drugs in your system-nopt just liver function, blood count, etc....

Canyo get away with saying you were visiting friend sout of state and went to a little walk in clinic and tehy gave you a couple (name of drug) to tide you over....

I think there are more in depth tests they can do to id teh exact drug-but I think a generic test oly goes by category-

the indepth test is done in autopsies and extreme circumstances....
