My stress fracture is healed but I'm still having a lot of pain. Please help!
Question: I went to my doctor about a month ago and had an MRI...my tibial stress fracture was finally healed. He said, however, that I had numerous shin splints along the course of my shin. I still have a ton of pain where the stress fracture was..not necessarily when I walk but sometimes the side of my shin will just start to ache or if I stretch my leg a certain way it'll really hurt. It also hurts to touch the area where the fracture was. I can't press on it and if my 8 lb chihuahua steps on it, I scream bloody murder (which really scares her and I feel bad).
Are the shin splints causing this pain? Or is it the stress fracture? When will this go away because it's really bothering me today.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It will take up to 18 months to become pain free, after a fx... and shine splint can be as painful as breaking a bone.... I know from experience....... I rode bulls and broncs for a few years.... and it takes longer than six weeks to completely heal a fx.....
