Has anyone got any experiences of what a hernia is like in terms of appearance a!

Question: I have booked myself an appointment at the Dr's tomorrow. I think I may have an Inguinal Hernia. There is no visible lump (which, I've discovered by looking on the Internet, is possible). It is on my right-side, just below my belt line - in the triangular region of the groin. What makes me think it could be a hernia is that I have been experiencing discomfort in that region for a long time. Not really pain, but the discomfort is more noticable when I am sitting down or driving. I also have slight pain in my upper right leg. The "Hernia" itself (if that's what it is) although there is no lump, it is darker in colour than the rest of my skin - almost like a bruise.

Has anyone ever had any experience of a Hernia? Does this sound like a Hernia to you? I am going to the Doc's tomorrow morning, so hopefully he can clear up the mystery!

Many thanks for taking the time to read and answer my question.

sports hernia had one. If its not a sports hernia you could have a messed up psoas muscle

Just an FYI sports hernia's are often missed diagnosed so be careful.

that's tricky if you don't have a lump. with males the inguinal hernia can go into the scrotal sac. it's usually worse with standing/sitting/bowel movements/etcs. however, it could be tha you have a hernia but it's just not big enough to protrude. is it just pain that you're going off of? that could be from muscle pain, possibly a blood clot (though not very likely). the doc will be able to feel a hernia with the exam.

It does sound an awful lot like a hernia. It can also be a severely pulled inguinal muscle with spasms and fluid buildup. The doctor will be able to tell you upon examination.

Good luck.
