I don't think that is a bone sticking out. I think your pubofemoral ligament is protruding. The pubofemoral ligament is a band of fibrous tissue that attaches your femur, thigh bone, to your pelvic bone. The bone in the pelvis where it attaches is called the pubic rami.

Are you a dancer, do you do yoga , or some other exercise that has you doing lots of stretches? But have you taken a holiday from practise for a while? Or perhaps you sit on a high stool with your right foot resting on the rung and your left foot resting lower down on the floor? Either of these things or may be some other movement has cause your pubofemoral ligament to pop out.

To help it go away you just need to exercise that area regularly.

Are you sure it's a bone and not a hernia? You better get that checked out. Even if it is a bone (there are none in that area that would stick out), it's not supposed to do that.

Good Luck

You do not have a bone in that part of your body to stick out but you probably have a hernia. You would be an active person, right, involved in sports and things? Sometimes, such people develop a little tear in the muscle lining over that part of the groin. Then your intestine gets into it and sticks out.

This is bad news, because if left untreated, the intestine can get strangulated which blocks the passage of your digestion.
In short, this can kill you.

No. one thing to do immediately is no heavy lifting. That can make the tear larger and worsen your condition. Ask your mum to take you to a doctor. Your doctor will organise an
operation for you quite quickly. You will probably be in hospital for two days. You will have an incision of two or so inches
which you can live with. It will seem like a long time for it to heal, but it does and then you will forget all about it.

To prevent infection, you will need to be shaved in that region, so do not be embarrassed. It is not a sexual disease, let me assure you, and has nothing to do with such problems.

But do go and see about it straightway. You will be advised to keep quiet for six weeks after your operation, but you will be perfectly capable of lending a helping hand with the home chores.

You don't mention if it has been like this always or it just appeared one day. If it just appeared, keeps getting bigger and is sore to touch, it could be just a swollen lymph node, which does not mean you have cancer! Have you been sick recently? Or sometimes there are just infections going on inside your body that cause swollen lymph nodes.

There are a number of things this could be. A swollen lymph node, a hernia, a swollen ligament or even a fatty tumor called a lipoma. No one could tell you what this is over the internet. You should go see your family doc or nurse practitioner and let them examine it.
