Does anyone hallucinate when they take Ambien? I can not sleep on it, I just tri!

Question: Ambien is a nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic meaning that it can cause hallucinations. Recently the FDA did note that hallucinations were a possible side affect of Ambien also. I would talk to you Dr. and see if you can try another different type of sleep-aid, one from a different pharmacological class of medications. One i would recommend is xanax, which is an antianxiety medication, but is often prescribed as a sleep-aid also.

oh yeah

Then don't take it!!! My friend was on it and she had the same problem. There have been many reports of people having that kind of side effect! Talk to your doctor about taking something else because it could be dangerous for you to take.

its not normal you need to tell your doctor

This side effect is reported more and more frequently - Ambien (sold here in Australia as Stilnox) can have serious side effects like hallucinations, and if you're prone to that you could also have other side effects including sleep walking, self-injury and suicide. You should stop taking it and talk to your doctor.

I didn't exactly "trip," but I did get pretty messed up.
