How's my burn doing on day 2?!
Question: Last night i burnt my hand with steam from a kettle(i was pouring boiling water into a pan and the lid fell off and the handle was right above where the lid should have been).
Last night i was in a lot of pain and for about4 hours ater it happened and then today i woke up and its no pain atall. I posted a question on how to stop the pain and some suggestions were very usefull.
Im just wondering how its doing and wether i have any reason to be concerned..ill just say what its like now:
1)2cm by 1cm white raised strips on 3 fingers (one on each)
2)blister on 2 fingers
l3)oss of feeling on the white bits(im sure i could peirce my skin with a needle and feel no pain)
4)rednedd around the white bits
My main concern is i cant feel the white bits..or no pain atall after all the pain i felt last night.
Could it just be because of blisters?

It sounds like a pretty painfull burn, but dont worry about it too much. Apply some gentle anti-bacterial cream to it and dont pop the blisters!
As for the loss of feeling in the white bits, its just the dead skin/nerves as a result from the burn, sensation should return after about a week, but im no doctor! If there's no imporvment, or things get worse dont hesitate to contact your doctor!
i would be cocerned u have second degree burns on those fingers.anytime ur burn urself and a blister forms its 2nd degree or higher.1st degree r just red areas.u need to watch for infection and dont pop them.
