Tell her to take a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol, it's more effective for severe pain and is safe, I did this for toothache and for sciatica and it really worked. Have you tried massaging her shoulder? Another remedy could be to place something warm on the affected area, eg a hotwater bottle, or one of those beany things you heat in the microwave, sorry I forget the proper name. Hope she feels better soon.

Ummm.... can you say chiropractor? or orthopedic surgeon?

But really, is it musculature or joint, or even bone? Was it injured? More info might get a better answer, so ask a new question with more info.
