Some doctors won't give refills unless you are seen again. Some will even call them in to the pharmacist over the phone if you call and talk to them. Mostly they only give you enough antibiotics to get rid of your condition. If you think your condition is still there, you might wanna be seen again or try another medication. The reason they don't give you another prescription is because if you take too much of an antibiotic your body becomes immune to them and they don't work as good anymore and won't get rid of whatever they were prescribed for. It wouldn't hurt to give your doc a call and see what he/she says.

you can call the office and tell his nurse you need a refill on your prescription called in to the pharmacy, they may be able to do that for you.

No, if you go to the doctor again for refills, you will still have to pay for the office visit. The best thing if you needed a refill is to call the doctor to call the pharmacy to authorize refills(that won't cost a thing). But, if you need a refill on an antibiotic because the infection has not improved, it would be a good idea to see the doctor again, since the medication is not working

I seriously doubt it unless you have a great relationship with your doc. Pretty much everything costs something regarding healthcare.

More importantly, doctors don't give refills on antibiotics because you don't need to take them every single time you are sick. Actually, antibiotics should be used very rarely. You don't need to take them when you have a head cold, or flu, etc. You don't even need to take them every time you have an infection! Antibiotics only help against bacterial infections and most infections are actually viral, which antibiotics don't help one little bit. Not only are you taking something you don't need, the american people are ruining antibiotics. We have taken them so much and so often that those little organisms are just mutating and coming back stronger than ever. We will see a day where our antibiotics don't work anymore. Also, there are so many different antibiotics and each of them work better for different infections. Some are best for skin infections, others clear up kidney infections. Never diagnose yourself, go see your doc and let him/her decide if you need an antibiotic at all and then which one to give you.
