Bad habits?!


Question: I bite the skin of my lips, hang nails, the inside of my mouth and I pick my scalp. How can i break them? I don't know what triggers them, but it's like if i'm not doing one i'm doing the other.

Anyone else have any annoying habits or share the same ones?

Okay let's be honest now...You say you are not a nervous person yet you just admitted that you have these nervous ticks... This is called denial, one of the most potent drugs in the universe.

Your actions speak louder than your words and telegraph otherwise. So by admitting there is a problem, half of it is already beaten and that leaves the other half to deal with.

If you can look back in time and determine when and where you started this, you may be able to recall what happened at that time in your life.

It ultimately is a result of an emotional wound from your past that is suppressed deep within the mind and is covered by the bandages of time. It is still there but has layers of time and events covering it...Everyone has some sort of baggage like this and if they deny it, that's their problem... Use this as a learning curve for every time we allow change, we can learn and grow in a healthy way.

I would suggest a good therapist, meditation, exorcize and prayer... As you spend some time with these, you will seek balance and start feeling better about yourself as you grow and learn.

After you find the wounds, embrace them and the emotions that are carried with them. Then let them go. Give the up to our higher power (for me it is God) and to the universe...

If forgiveness is in order, then so be it for in doing so, we also let go of this negative emotion and energy which allows more room for the good stuff, peace, love and growth.

If you find disappointment in your way, let that go too as it is like the dark matter in the universe, plentiful and in the way of change for growth...

Try keeping yourself busy to forget doing your habit

try chewing some gum when you feel the urge... it's called an alternative replacement behavior... mints or candy could work also... something like this could be more about an oral fixation

it sounds like your nerves might be the cause... are you a nervous person or do you worry alot about everything? Just wondering because I bite my nails and that was my reasoning... i worried way too much about everything. Good luck with solving the issue
