Do i have weak ligaments in my knees?!

Question: i badly sprained the ligament in my left knee 2 years ago playing football. i then did it again in my left knee that same year 2 months later whilst running (most likely due to a lack of rest).

both times i went to hospital and was given bandages and crutches and told when & how to appropriately ice, rest, and excercise my knee.

i then undertook physiotherapy classes for a few months.

after a while i thought it had fully recovered, but i occassionally felt it to be slightly weak in some cirumstances over the next year.

but, this was rare and so i wasn't worried.

however last week i did the same thing (but this time in my right knee), and this time i wasn't doing much at all, my knee just gave way.

my doctors do not seem to have noticed any particular weaknesses in my knee ligaments, but i can't help but feel slightly worried.

does anyone have any knowledge or experience that could help me?

thanks :)

yeah it could mean that you have weak(or loose) ligaments. my knee doctor told me that since i tore my acl in the left knee, i had a greater chance of tearing it in my left solely because the first tear could be due to something in my genes.
also, just work on strengthening all the muscles around the knees(quads, hammys, and calves) because then there will be less chance of your knee being in a position that could possible injure it

I had the same situation except with cheerleading and basketball. Sadly its really hard for them to recover. Whenever i excersize now im still in a little pain. As much as you dont wanna hear this you really just need to give it time to rest all while doing your excersizes because otherwise it will just get worse like mine did! Sucks i know but its worth it in the end....you career most likely wont be football soooo
