It OK to take Vicodin now?!
Question: I'm prescribed both so I'm not taking it for the high or anything.
I took Xanax about 3 hours ago (1mg), I'm in alot of pain because i recently got a hernia, is it ok to take Vicodin (5mg) now? Also im not prescribed the Vicodin for the hernia, i was prescribed it a few months ago after a bad car accident i was in. Is it ok to take if you have a hernia (that hasent been repaired) to relieve the pain? Or should i just tuff it out and stop being a *****?

It won't hurt you. There is no problem with hydrocodone and Zanax together. I do it every day as part of a pain management program. Here is a link to check it out yourself on a drug interaction tool. You shouldn't trust what just anyone with a computer and Yahoo tells you. I wouldn't!!

The Tylenol in the Vicodin can increase you risk of bleeding, which would be bad with your hernia!
I'd check with your doctor before hand, especially if he didn't give you the vicodin for the pain with the hernia.
You could probably also call a pharmacist (try Walgreen's since they are open 24/7 if the pain gets to bad)
I take 40 - 60 mgs daily for chronic pain along with neutrontin and balcofen. And It hasn't killed me YET. Be very careful when mixing the meds, but in my opinion a 5mg wouldn't hurt you. You should never take a med without first consulting a medically trained professional who understands drug interactions. A hernia that is very painful should be examined immediately. They can cut off circulation in the intestinal tract which can lead to death !!! I strongly advise you to have a doctor examine you soon !!
acetaminophen and hydrocodone are both safe when taken in addition to alprozalam. you will be fine with the pain killer.
Your xanax really sucks. You should have felt like it was okay to take your Vicodin as soon as the xanax started to work. You can't sit at home and diagnose yourself. How do you know if you really had a hernia? How do you you know what kind of hernia it was? Go to the doctor. Good Luck.
If you have children in your house, you really should throw away any narcotics that are left-over from an old injury.
