I found a spider bite on my leg the other day, is it just a bite or is it someth!

Question: I was in my room the other day and i knelt down on my left leg to pick up something when i felt this shocking pain. It was a surprise because it had not happened before. I pulled up my trouser leg which revealed a big red lump on my leg about a nail size roughly. It is really itchy and it hurts when i touch it. I do not know how long it has been there since i noticed it when i knelt down. Is this something i should worry about? i have treated it with germaline but thats about it. It starts to hurt once in a while but the pain comes and goes. Can i just leave it and move on with my life?

I have been bit several times (over 30) by spiders, (doctor said they are attracted to my blood) never had any serious reactions, a large welt and pain in the beginning with severe itching, taking about a month before they were gone...my hubby on the other hand got bit on his foot and it looked like flesh eating disease, it was awful, his foot was so swollen, a lot of pain, sick and dizzy, doctor gave him prescription benadryl and antibiotics, he thought it was a brown recluse...his foot looked just like the bite this person got...

So if your bite isn't changing, the pain is dissipating and you don't any have other symptoms, from my experience I would let it heal (apply cortizone 1% cream and take benadryl to reduce itching)...if you have any concerns call your local poison control center to speak to a spider bite specialist for further info and advice.

OMG with those symptons it sounds like you have cought lerongerpliconkerilekerroshus you have 1 week(from incident) to get it cured otherwise youll die

Spider bites can be very dangerous - or not at all.

It all depends on the genus of spider.

The Brown Recluse, for example is often times fatal, as is the BLACK WIDOW.

I would certainly have it checked... and soon... just in case.

9 times out of 10 you can just get on with life and not worry about it. If you have any trouble breathing or feel dizzy, nauseous, numb, or weird, then go to the hospital.

It would really help medical staff if you could locate the spider or insect that bit you.

well my worried new friend it all depends on were you live for most of the greater north east there are no major harmful spiders except the black widow and it would have hurt like hell if it bit you i suggest put some ointment on it monitor it and if your very concerned call your local poison control center and describe it to them. sorry i couldn't be more help maybe suck the venom out lol jk =)

If it has been several days and is getting no better it would be worthwhile to have it checked by a doctor.
