call the hospital and ask.

You should be ok to take painkillers. The reason you are not supposed to eat is in case you vomit whilst under anaesthetic.

Stick it in a jar of cool water

you are not aloud?

Call the ward you are going to and ask. Normally, patients can take their regular medication, but double check. Also, ask them specifically about the painkillers you are planning to take, as they could interfere with the anasthetic or analgesia that the anesthatist plans to use.

usually it is o.k. to take your medication, but if you are concerned give them a call, as usual its best to be on the safe side

I think that is right as you need to have an empty stomach. I recommend you call NHS Direct (0845 4647 )now for an answer now as they will be able to advise you medically. Good luck for tomorrow.

They don't want you to eat or drink because they are probably putting you to sleep and they don't want you to poop or pee on the table. When they are finished with the procedure they will feed pain killers into your IV. When you wake up, you will be given more to hold you over while you are in the hospital, then some to take at home.
Good Luck.

I don't think you are allowed to but call the hospital to make sure. I had rotater cuff surgery and they said I couldn't before surgery. Maybe it will be different for you.Good luck!

call hospital
