Loosining up?!


Question: I have an ear infection and have ear drops I have list all hearing in my left war but if I pull the ear lobe down i get my hearing back - but it goesd after about 10 seconds or if I move .. I have been on the medicine for 2 days and lost hearing a week ago.
any suggestions on how long it will take I get my hearing back and any ways too speed it up?

Sounds like a part of the eustacian tube is inflamed and pulling down the earlobe is allowing a temporary release of pressure behind the eardrum.
Hopefully that's all it is in which case the the nasal steroids you're taking should reduce the inflamation and bring your hearing back in about a week.
Thankfully the eardrum isn't perforated yet or it'll take about six weeks to heal.
I've had so many burst eardrums from this problem due to congenital deformed sinuses that the bones in the inner ear have been eroded. So I say to you. It's important to keep up with the nasal spray.

Sorry I don't know mush about ears except that they can hurt like h*** . Keep taking the meds and I Hope you get well soon. (It must be very annoying)
