Stop smoking...HELP!!!?!

Question: I have recently started to quit smoking and I cant sleep at night. I know that I will feel better once the withdraw symptoms are gone but how can I sleep at night now? I have tried everything except hard pills. I used to take tylenol pm to help me sleep sometimes but now that I have started to quit smoking they no longer help. For some reason the only thing that is on my mind to help me go to sleep is when you go to the emergency room and they give you medicine in your arm is the only thing that would help me go to sleep. No matter how many pills I take I just cant go to sleep at night. I am wore out and have no energy to do anything. I am at my witts end and really need some advice. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!!!

I don't think that arm dope is a good solution. It would work, but would leave you with an addiction worse than smoking!

Have you tried taking a couple of Benadryl? They work very well. And have you thought about using nicotine patches or lozenges? Wearing a patch to bed might help you.

BTW, what made you decide to quit smoking?

Drink Coffe/ Cafine ALL DAY
And LOTS Of It
You'll Feel Up And Awake
And Once You Come Down
You'll Be Tired But
Make Sure Your Ready To Sleep
AS SOON AS YOU COME DOWN
Because You Can "MISS" The Tiredness
Part Of Coming Down...

A warm bath, a glass of wine, sleepy time tea...those are some ways you can try to get some sleep.

Why anyone would recommend caffeine to someone that can't sleep, I will never understand. What a useless piece of advice for you.

Avoid other stimulants like coffee, then you will become addicted to another thing. I would recommend exercising. Go outside for a jog, or take an aerobics class, wear yourself out at the gym, then get a relaxing massage. It will make you feel great. Afterwards, have a hot bath and listen to some soothing music. It will help you sleep. You seem like a person that relys on medications and/or stimulants to make you satisfied....you need to change this behaviour before it gets you into real trouble. Try seeing a natropath, they can reccomend some natural products for energy and help you with your health. Continue to avoid cigarettes no matter how hard it is. This will be the first step to bettering your health and your mind.
