Yeah, you probably need to get your tonsils taken out. I got mine taken out when i was 6 years old because when I was younger I would always get sore and strep throat and it would drive me crazy it hurt so bad. I also snored and didn't know, so they taped it and figured I should get it out, ever since my throat has been fine =], and getting them out really isn't that bad but it has consequenses, you start liking food you've never liked before and over-eat. Learn to control it first.

Drink lot of liquids. I can honestly say that you should see your family doctor, because it could just be an inflammation. Now a days its hard to find a doctor who will remove tonsils because tonsils are part of the immunity system, which means they produce disease fighting cells, or white blood cells. But do see your doctor, it could be an infection, or they may actually need to be taken out. If they give you medicine and it continues to hurt, continue bothering your doctor until something is done.

I know your symptoms are uncomfortable, but having a sore throat for a few days does is not an indication to have your tonsils removed. Your symptoms may be from allergies. Talk to your MD about trying an antihistamine/decongestant such as Allegra-D, Zyrtec, etc.

If it should at some point be determined your tonsils need to be removed, it is really a rather easy surgery. Sure, your throat will be painful, but it is a quick surgery with a fairly quick recovery.

I hope this helps!! Good luck to you!
