though you are young and you smoke alot, I dont think your pains are caused by smoking, its more likely they are stress induced, stress can affect us in many many ways, its almost unbelievable to the extent of which it can affect us. I think what has happened is a prolongued panic attack and as a result your muscles have tensed up, this means that when you attempt to move, you risk injury as the muscles are so tense. This is what has happened, muscles have become pulled and as a result you are feeling the pain.

I would see your GP for a checkup and to get some questions you must have answered.

stop smoking,it is bad for you .....what are you doing up at this time of night/morning.

well smoking at the age of 15 and smoking 5-10 a day wouldn't be the cause of a heart attack. I am concerned though. How long has this been going on now?

EDIT: ok, so I haven't seen a post on how long this has been going on. Hours?? Minutes?? I am more concerned that you are a diabetic. I would tell your parents how you are feeling. You don't need to tell them you are a smoker. I think the situation needs to be addressed. Many diabetics can have heart problems. So buck up sweety! Just go tell your mum or dad the weird sensation you are having. Tell them you want to get it checked out. Like I said, they don't need to know you smoked. I'm sure they know already though. Most parents do, but don't want to confront it.

whether you smoke or not, go to a doctor and tell him your symptoms, pains on the left hand side of your body is not good. if you are diabetic and smoking that could be quite bad, seriously, the only time i have heard of left sides having problems is with a stroke... go get checked!

Your fear may be the cause. Take 5-6 big deep breaths, in and out - do it slow so you don't hyperventilate. Does this help? If so, go get something to eat, like a peanut butter sandwich and a piece of fruit and a glass of water.

If this really helps, it is probably a low blood sugar attack. Anyone with an addiction should get checked out for low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in my opinion, as that may be why your body needs you to smoke.

Don't get stressed, it's probably nothing as serious as that. Tell your parents how you feel, don't have to tell them about the smoking. You can always go up the hospital to get checked over if it's really worrying you, what you tell them is confidential. Good luck!

OK, worst case scenario: I was born with a genetic heart defect, which was not diagnosed till I was 40 odd. By which time it was too late. If you are getting pains in your left side this could be angina. This is a cramp in the heart muscles caused by a shortage of oxygen. It can come on when you smoke as nicotine closes off the blood vessels.

So, heart, I would give you 10/1 that you do not have angina and it is probably wind, but indulge me!! Go see the doctor and get an ecg. If it could happen to me, it could happen to you.

Oh, and give up the fags. It must be like kissing an ash tray.

you are almost 15 and smoking? Well I dont know what to say? I think if you have pain in left arm and chest it cannot be anything else than what you think. You seem to be intelligent to know that. Why not with smoking? Go to emergency! And YES STOP SMOKING!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a diabetic and used to smoke. I had what you described. IT WAS A HEART ATTACK! GET TO A HOSPITAL!

haha seriously ive bin smoking since.......well thats not important but theres no way you having a heart attack
a) your too young and it doesnt seem youve been doin it long
b) maybe its jus that you feeling a lil sick
3) if your that worried jus go check with the doc

id say drop a painkiller and call it a nite

Do you realize that as a diabetic you are prone to circulation problems anyway, and smoking makes this worse. Worst-case scenario, you could lose a foot or leg because of it. Don't ruin your life. And see a doctor about those pains. Being 15 doesn't mean you CAN'T have a heart problem, even if it is unlikely.

The smoking 5 to 10 cigarettes won't have caused you any problem unless you have been doing it since you were 8. Stop being so paranoid and quit smoking if you are going to get concerned every time you get a trapped nerve or have bad circulation.

one of the signs of diabetes is dizziness, so keep checking your blood glucose level

Face the realilty of it all...... give up the smoking. We know it's not what you want to hear but, really, it is not attractive in a young lady of 15. It may be nothing to worry about, but as you get older you're going to be suffering with smoking related diseases as well as stink like an old ash tray and look a tramp with a cig hanging out your fingers. Do something about it now whilst you are young enough to and have the will power. And speak with your gp about the symptoms you have - better to be safe than sorry, especially with the diabetes problem.
