The top of my foot hurts and I don't know why!?!

Question: Okay so this morning I woke up and the top of my left foot hurt so bad and I have no idea why. The only things I could think of is I walked at the mall yesterday, but why would that hurt the top? Another could be I stubbed my second toe on the lip of the garage. Maybe that jammed some bones??

I just went to the doctor about a similar issue. You could have high arches in your feet. And if you wear flat footed shoes or shoes without alot of arch support over a long period of time. It can lead to pain on the top of your feet, meanining your arches are breaking down. You have a nurve on the top of your feet and if you tie your shoes to tight the preasure over the coure of the day will cause you pain. It will hurt and cause tingling if you hit the nurve on the top of your foot. This is just one sinario.

Well, the middle of your foot has lots on bones in it. When you walk around a lot in the wrong shoes, the arch of your foot is not supported. Your whole foot probably hurts, but the top just hurts the most.

Either that or you are like me and you somehow managed to step on yourself. Oh, yes. It is possible to step on yourself. I do it all the time.

Often top of foot hurts because of old injury earlier on or because your footwear has rubbed against it. Can also hurt when you simply walk a lot. On a more serious note, often arthritis is reason for the pain on top of foot - seems this bone/muscle area is susceptible to rheumatic pains from time to time.
