Why does a person feels sleepy even though this one is getting 8 hrs of sleep?!

Question: you could be going through stress and need m ore sleep. you could be sad or have some depression since it is normal to have this from time to time due to life and its changes that require constant adapting. you may not be eating enough of vegetables and fruits that provide complex carbohydrates for energy. You may not be getting enough exercise. maybe you are bored or overweight. take a vitamin with some B complex and iron. drink some green tea for energy. do you eat protein in fish eggs or meat?
are you on any medications? do you drink coffee or eat sugar in the morning and then crash when the sugar or caffeine wears off?
Are you getting a restful sleep or do you wake many times during the night? many times teens and people under stress need more than 8 hours of sleep.

There are many possible reasons. Some people need more sleep than that like around 10 hours and some less like around 6 hours. It also depends on what else they do. If they do nothing all day that could be why and if they work all day almost constantly that is another reason.

Well you need to constantly get 8 hours + sleep everynight for atleast 2weeks for you to actully feel the diffrence !

if you've been getting alot of lack of sleep a few nights in a row and then get 2 good nights of 8+ hours sleep you'll still feel tired !

hope this helped :D

I believe the answer here concerns the amount of energy you have dedicated to your metabolic system. You have two main systems in your body that consume energy: your digestive system and your metabolic system. If a considerable amount of the food you eat is cooked, then your digestive system is consuming approximately 60% of your body's energy.

If you can find a way to divert the energy from your digestion to the rest of your system you will have more energy to run your metabolism and to recover in the evening.

I recommend a few diet changes to accomplish this:

1. Increase your raw food intake, supplemented with digestive enzymes.
2. Don't eat after 8pm.
3. Eat only fruit before breakfast.

By increasing the amount of raw food and adding digestive enzyme supplements, you will dramatically reduce the amount of energy needed for digestion.

By not eating after 8pm, your body will have time to digest your food before sleeping. This will give your sleeping period more energy to recover your body.

When you eat fruit alone, the stomach uses very little energy to digest it!
