Blisters form from the pressure between your shoe and the point where the blister forms. The pressure on the skin causes a minor injury to the skin. The body responds by increasing blood and capillary flow to the area. The water portion of your blood is able to leak through the capillaries (small blood vessels) at that point and gets trapped under your skin until the blister breaks and the water drains. (There are few other organic chemicals from the blood in the fluid, but it's mainly just water.)

The key treatment is reducing pressure. If the pressure is not eliminated, new blisters will form and things will only get worse. Are your blisters on top of your feet or the bottom? If on the bottom you can cut a small hole, the size of the blister, in the shoe insert so that the blister rests int he hole you just cut. This will decrease the pressure applied to the blister. If on top of the foot, you could cut a hole in your shoe at that point, but that would not be very sightly. I'd recommend instead that you pad ARROUND the blister, not on top of it. Get a few cotton balls and make a raised ring (like a donut) around the blister. Do not put any pad on top of the blister. Tape them in place. This way the top of your shoe will put pressure on the cotton donut rather than on the blister. Last idea would be to get some new shoes that are a bit roomier.

i dont think that there is anything that you could do in order to prevent it. after a while, the skin between your toes will get tougher and you will not get blisters anymore. maybe you could wear different shoes to work
