Ok your doctor may refer you to an orthopedic specialist. Depending on the severity and location of your muscle strain, the orthopedist may immobilize the injured muscle in a cast for several weeks or repair it surgically.
But if its not that bad than your doctor may suggest that you take acetaminophen (Tylenol and others) or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and others). For someone with a painful back strain that does not improve with NSAIDs or acetaminophen (Tylenol), prescription pain medications or muscle relaxants may be appropriate.
Im sorry to say You may not be able to play but that doesnt mean you will never play so dont worry you'll be fine! Have alot of rest

i mean it was a good best answer but i dont want surgery Report It

  • rest rest and more rest! - sorry mate :( the worst thing you can do with a torn muscle, specially in the back, is aggravate it unnecessarily - lots of deep heat - ibroprufen rub and massages.... and REST - ok so you might sit out for a season which i can tell will be unbearable for you - but better a season than to never play again hey! ...good luck and get well soon xx

You should try a supplement called 'repair' by 'enzemedica' it is a strong dose of enzymes which help you heal faster. Its a great product I have used before and it cost around $30.00 at any health food store!
hopefully you wont be sitting out the whole season!
