Running Injury?!

Question: I'm on a high school track team and I run distance. A few days ago I pulled my hamstring so I haven't been running, just using the eliptical and swimming. Tonight after I swam, I keep getting quick and sudden pains when I step beneath my right pelvic bone. It feels like a nerve is being pinched, what is happening?

It's possibly your sciatic nerve, which is the longest and largest nerve in the body. It runs from your back, through the pelvis, and down the lower limb. Most people with sciatica get better over a period of time (weeks or months), but there are a few people who don't.

Sciatica is a symptom of something else, not an illness in itself. Something is causing nerve impingement or as you said pinched nerve. If you find the pain doesn't get better then you might wish to be evaluated as to what is causing the sciatica. Eliminate that and you'll eliminate the pinched nerve.
