Why am I sleeping 10 hours now, and how can I cut it back down to 8?!

Question: Just recently I have been sleeping for 10 hours at a time, compared to my usual 8. I have vivid dreams also, and feel awful when I wake up in the morning. Is there any way I can resume a normal sleep pattern of 8 hours, and what might the reason be for me sleeping so much?

Set an alarm clock for 8 hours, and force yourself to get up when it goes off. Your body will start to adjust to this. You should be able to resume a normal sleep pattern, with only occasionally sleeping in.

eat breakfast no matter at what time you wake up. it makes a difference! get more active. that helps too.

set an alarm! lol
the obvious being out of the way and i'm sure you've tried, may i suggest organising things in the morning so that you are committed to getting up? If the time you are waking is fine then try going to bed a bit later and waking up at the same time.
In all seriousness you could have a problem with low Iron or your Thyroid gland so i suggest you go get a blood test and see your doctor just in case. Better safe then sorry. Especially if this sleeping pattern is abnormal for you.
As for the dream, no help i can offer you there. I did here a European tale that Camomile Tea before bed is supposed to give you 'Sweet Dreams', just a thought.
