Question: Is medicaid a ppo!?

You can ask your medicaid office for a listing of doctors that take Medicaid!. They should have a list of dentists too!.
Other than that, just call the doctors offices near you that you'd like to go to, and ask their receptionist if they take Medicaid!.
A PPO is when you don't have to be referred to a specialist doctor by a "gateway" doctor!. The "gateway" doctor is usually just your general doctor you go see for things like colds, flu, etc!. When you have a PPO, you can choose yourself what doctors you'd like to see, and you can also go to any specialist on your own without having to have a "gateway" doctor refer you to the specialist!.
An HMO is more like what Medicaid is!. You'll need to pick your "gateway" doctor, this is who you'll go see for most things, colds, flu, etc!. but if you need to see a specialist doctor for anything, your "gateway" doctor will have to refer you to him before you can see him!.
This just means that your gateway doctor will have his secretary contact the secretary at the specialist and tell them that they are sending over a referral (you), and they will arrange an appointment for you - you cannot do it on your own without your gateway doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With a PPO you can pick your own doctor as long as the doctor accepts the insurance!. Medicaid is more like an HMO the doctor has to be assigned or at least he has to be in the network!. You should be able to contact your case worker to get some referral options!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
