Based on my experience with others in my immediate family, I think you need to get some X-rays and see a doctor, preferably a rheumatologist!. I suspect you may have a condition called ankylosing spondylitis!. It's a form of rheumatoid arthritis that typically affects people in their late teens and early twenties!. It is a progressive disease that can only be treated with exercise and pain medications (typically this is later in life)!. It can result in total fusion of the spine in later years!. This disease is especially likely if your pain is more accurately characterized as stiffness!. There is a gene that 90% of the people with AS have, but it's not a definitive test by itself!. My husband (age 30) happens to be one of the 10% who do not have the gene; his symptoms initially presented at about age 24, which is pretty late for AS!.

At a minimum, you should be seen by a doctor and checked out!. I sincerely hope you've just strained your muscles and need to allow them proper healing time!. Also, check into some exercises to strengthen your "core" muscles - your back, abs, obliques, etc!. Making these muscles strong allows them to bear more of the load!. Also, if you're carrying any excess weight, lose it!. Bellies can contribute to and even cause minor back strain!.

For immediate treatment - try alternating hot and cold for 10 minutes on the painful spot!. I'm assuming you've tried the muscle rubs (like TigerBalm or Icy Hot), but if not, they're an option too, as are the typical NSAIDs (tylenol, advil, etc)!.

Best of luck!. Hope you're feeling better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have exactly the same problem im only 17 and have constant back trouble, iv been 2 a doctor and he sed that mine was a muscular injury he did say that it is nothing 2 really worry about and that i should have about 2 weeks off from doing any physical activity that was in december and its still giving me lots of trouble, i just have 2 be really careful with what im doing and nt 2 push things 2 much i also have 2 be careful at dancing as it seems that dancing is a major cause of my problems, if it is muscular i sugest u use some deep heat it works wonders and means u can continu doing things with out 2 much pain as in walking n things i also suggest having warm baths with bubble bath cos the water will take ur weight and the warmth will help ease pain and the bubbles just make u feel better and smell niceWww@Answer-Health@Com
