Question: Why do we feel pain!.!.!. How does the brain know and sends pain signals to the body!?

We have pain receptors located all over the body (skin, joints, muscles, etc)!. These pain receptors, when stimulated, transmit a signal to nerves which also extend all over our body!. These nerves are long and they transmit these pain signals to the spinal cord where the signal is again transmitted to other nerves which run to the brain and convey the sensation of pain to the cortex of our brain where the pain signal is processed and we feel pain!. This all occurs in a matter of seconds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
nerve endings by the site of the injury "feel" the injury and transmit signals to the brain via neurotransmitters!.

Nerves send pain signals to the brain, sorda like an e-mail system!. Also, if your nerves didn't send those signals your body would take much longer healing from scrapes and broken bones!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
We have nerve fibers on top of our skin that detect pain!. I would assume that when something painful happens to us that signal will go form our nerve fibers up to our brain to tell us that thats painful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, when you are in pain that part of the body, lets say its the knee, sends messengers to the brain!. The brain then decides whether to act or not!. This is when the message travels through thousands and thousands of neuron, breaking off and re-growing!. This also occurs is you tell the brain, like if you say oowww, I'm in pain, it hurts!. That message goes to the brain!. It sends cells and the emune system to help you, and by that time, if it's just a graze, it's pretty much all over!Www@Answer-Health@Com
