Hi, My mum is going to go in for a hip replacement how long will she be able to walk again!? and how long will she be in hospital for!?
Cos I want to make sure everything is clean and tidy for her going in and coming out!? I mean the house so that she does not have to do any housework for while she is in and when she comes home from hospital!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

aww thats very thoughtful of you, well done! i have a friend who is having surgery on her hips (not the same procedure but similar) and i think she is out of action for a few months (sorry i cant be of more help but i dont know much about it) maybe you could get your friends to help you out a bit because she definately wont be leaving her bed that much for atleast a few weeks! x x xWww@Answer-Health@Com
She will be up to walk with the physios the following day and barring any complications should be home in a weekWww@Answer-Health@Com
She'll be up and walking with a frame the day after her op and then 2 sticks from the day after that until she feels comfortable to use just 1 stick and then none at all (this should take about 2 months)!. As for the stay in hospital, this should only be a maximum of one week, sometimes a day or two earlier if they are doing really well! Hope all goes well and it's really thoughtful of you to help your mum like that! I had to aswell!Www@Answer-Health@Com
