trust me,

Anyone telling you that 2-6 weeks is the time to heal hasn't suffered a sprain before!. I did once playing basketball and it took about 1-2 months before it reached about 80%
I had a cast and took it off like 1 week after my sprain and it's been 9 years since then and it never fully recovered!.

Wear a cast to keep it sturdy!. You want the joints and bones to fuse together properly!. If you are impatient like I was, take it off after a week or two-but only at your own risk!.

Ease up on sports for awhile but it is ok to train AFTER you removed the cast!.

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

At least six weeks and even then, you will need to wear supportive footwear!. Sit back, put your feet up and let others do the running around for you - milk it for all it's worth!Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont walk on!.!.!. usally takes 2-4 weeks if its pretty bad!.maby 5, put ice on it then heat everyday for abut an hour!. put your pressure on the other foot, not the hurt one!.and try walking on it slowly!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

depends on how bad you sprained your ankle!. usually it takes 2-4 weeks to heal with the right treatments but if its really bad i'd say about 5 or 6 to the most!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello there,
It can take quite a long time to settle completely, that is until you get no pain and no swelling!. I can take as long as eighteen months!. If it doesn't start to improve at all, you should get some advice again as you may have torn a ligament!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Months!. Depends on how well you take care of it!. Avoid being on your feet, take anti inflammatories like ibuprofen or aleve (NOT tylenol), after it feels slightly better and the swelling goes down you still need 2-4 weeks of rest before resuming exercise, wear good supportive shoes with good arch supports, a boot like support is better than an ace bandage!. Don't wear the bandage 24/7!. Take your vitamins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was running track at the end of a month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A wise orthopaedic surgeon who once taught me, used to say a bad sprain is worse than a simple fracture and may take longer to settle!. I can only suggest that physiotherapy might be helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
