Does anyone have any advice for buying crutches?!

Question: Does anyone have any advice for buying crutches!?
I know you can get either wooden or aluminum crutches - is one preferable to the other!? I was thinking that aluminum might be better because they would be lighter!. They're for my daughter who is eleven years old and about five foot four!. She's sustained an injury to her foot and will need to use them for at least a few days so I want to try and make sure she's as comfortable with them as possible!. Anyone with some good advice would be appreciated!. Thanks all!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Crutches are literally made to measure! Some OT will suggest full under arm crutches, so that the lower limb does not take any weight, while other will go for elbow crutch!. However, if your daughter needs them, I assume the Hospital would have told you or supplied them!. The worse part, buying crutches and using them when they are not needed, because it will throw the entire body out of alignment and the child will have problems later on in life!.
