What is best for a bad scrape?!

Question: What is best for a bad scrape!?
My dad says that I should leave it uncovered, so that fresh air can get to it and help it heal faster,

but my teachers say that i should keep in under a bandaid with ointment at all times to help it heal!.

Which is better to make it go away and heal faster!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
definetly do not leave it uncovered, im assuming that its kind of large, so this is what i reccomend u do:

disinfect it with rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide (this might sting a little bit)

then apply an antibiotic/first aid ointment

cover it with a piece of gauze!.

Good luck

honestly buy some of that stuff thats lie sand its called like intant scab!.!.!.!. it puts lie a covering over ur scrapeWww@Answer-Health@Com

In the beginning, ointment (Neosporin) and a bandage!. The Neosporin will kill any bacteria and keep the wound moist, so the healing process can begin!. Once it's begun to heal, and has stopped bleeding or weeping, remove the bandage and allow it to breathe!. If you're doing something where it may get reinjured or dirty, though, reapply the bandage with some more ointment for good measure!.

I'm no doctor, but that's always worked for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Neosporin, or hydrogen peroxide is your best bet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do both!. During the day time, leave a band-aid on it with nerosporin or something and at night take it off and let it air out a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put some hydrogen peroxide on it it will sting, but it should help heal it + clean it out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

put BAG BALM on it!it heals everything!!!!!!im preety sure you ca find it anywhere!than id cover it wth a band aid when your out but if your just layin around at home that id put bag balm and let it air out without a band aid on it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Airing it out will heal it faster however you need to have it covered when it has the potential of getting dirty!. Clean it every day and night with hydrogen peroxide and put antibiotics (noesporn) on it after you clean it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

a bandaid that is big enough so that it doesn't touch ANY part of the scrape!. It you bandaid it with a small bandaid then you will rip of the scab when you take it off!. =[ get a big bandaid and use neosporin or it can get infected if you leave it uncovered!. Just change the bandaid often and like when ever you take showers/baths!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would put a bandaid over it!. It might not make it heal any faster, but that is how you are going to keep infection causing bacteria out of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well when I was taking something out of my dogs mouth he accidental bit down and sliced open my finger!. They soaked it in the hospital with just tap water and bedodine solution!. I was sure it would get infected so when I got home I re soaked with sterile saline solution, peroxide, and bedodine!. for the first couple of days I covered it with bandages and neosporin just on the bandage!. It healed slowly, but didn't get infected then I ran out of bandages so I made my own using a Clorox disinfecting wipe!. Since I also ran out of neosporin it got more air, but it healed twice as fast with no infection because the wipes allowed the wound to breath, but at the same time killed the bacteria that was in the air!. It worked great!. I hope that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Both would be best!. Leave it covered with neosporin during the day and when you are home or after a shower take the bandage off to let the air at it!.

The neosporin will help it heal faster and hopefully prevent a scar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
