I have trouble falling asleep?!


Question: I have trouble falling asleep!?
i have trouble falling asleep at night every one in my house is asleep but me i just cant get to sleep i think about all the other people that are awake i have tryed sleep pills counting sheep closing my eyes watching tv before bed reading drawing any one have any ideas!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used to have that problem, so i cut out caffine and started walking an hour before bedtime then i would come home take a hot shower!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to relax!. Try getting a homedics sound machine!. It plays different relaxing sounds!. It has helped my daughter & it has helped me!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you're really stressed, it's hard to fall asleep!. also if your mind is going and you have things going thru your mind!.
i've been told not to drink caffeine several hours before bedtime!. same with sugar!.
lay in a quiet, dark room and just listen to classical music or silence!. try to breathe deep & just try to imagine all the stresses of the day leaving your body!.

First, I agree with Oscar!. A sound machine could help!. You need to relax and clear your mind and stop thinking about everything!. Also, I'm into aromatherapy!. I used to have trouble sleeping and I got a small bag of lavender and put in under my pillow each morning!. At night, when I went to sleep, I'd take the bag and put in on my night table!. Then I'd turn the pillow over and I would breathe in the lavendar aroma which has a calming effect!. I fell asleep!. The next morning I put the bag under my pillow again!. Assuming you are over 21!.!.!.!.Melatonin is cheap, and OTC!. I sometimes take it on restless nights!. It comes in 3MG!. I don't think it comes in 5MG as Jessica mentions!. You take one 1/2 hr to 45 min!. before bedtime!. You can take two if one does not work!. Try that the second time, different night, if the one the first night doesn't work!.If you are a minor, talk with your parents about your problem!.

Regardless of age, avoid caffeine drinks, coffee, tea, Pepsi, Coke, Mt Dew, Dr Pepper, chocolate and Sunkist Orange soda, and especially Energy drinks, which are 100% caffeine and sugar!. Avoid all these after 6PM, also sugar products!.

Don't be snacking on cookies, cakes, candy, especially chocolate, after 6PM!. This may sound severe, but if you want to be able to sleep!.!.!.ya gotta do it!.

I have found putting on earphones or a headset, with a relaxation CD/tape is extremely relaxing!. Reading a story that isn't scary before bed, keeps your eyes downward, gets you drowsy!.!.!.!.and gets your mind off why you can't fall asleep!. Don't watch anything scary or extremely action packed before bed, and do NOT watch TV in bed!.

the same thing happens to me so i try and sing a song in m,y head and that sometimes helps!.
