Question: I have very bad back pain and my doctor prescribed me flexeril & darvocet!.!?
my mom said she doesn't think i should take them bc 2 famous people overdose on them and died!. (the guy from broke back mountain and a singer name gerald lervert)!. she said they can be fatal!. What are the pros and cons!? what shoudl i do and not do!? sometimes doctors just write up a prescription not fully caring!. they just want your money and to get your outta their office!. PLEASE HELP!. Should i throw them away!. I don't want to die!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah they OVERDOSED and died!.!.!.do you plan on taking more than the dosage!? Stop being so dramatic!. They will def!. make you feel better!. If you don't want to over-medicate, just take it when you really need it!. My friend has bad back pain and she only takes her muscle relaxers (flexeril) at night so she can get some sleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, I understand your Mothers concern, but I assure you that unless you have allergies to the medication, and you take it exactly like prescribed that you will be fine!.
Keep tract of when you took the medication and that way there will be no chance of you overdosing!. You shouldn't have been made scared like that without investigating first!.
I can assure you that you probably really need that medication to ease your back pain, or your doctor would have never given you the presciptions, they are very careful about who they write them for, in case someone is faking to get drugs!.
The flexeril was given to you to ease your back muscles so that you can heal, so I don't think that your doctor was being uncaring in anyway, more like trying to help you with your pain and condition!. If they just wanted your money and for you to get out, trust that you wouldn't have left with a prescription!. You went there for treatment and I fully believe that is what you got!.
The celebrities that your Mom mentioned took too much medication that WAS NOT prescribed to they at the time!.

Well the Darvocet might help a bit!. The Flexoril is a joke!. It will however make you tired!. You would most likely be better off with straight iboprophen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could also contact you local hospital or pharmacy to discuss the products!. Many of the chain and smaller pharmacies will make a pharmacist available to answer any questions about a product!.
If you are not comfortable with the treatment you can ask your doctor if he can prescribe a different product!. There are several bands of pain and relaxent products!.
