Answers:
It is pretty damaging if you hold it too long because you will stretch your urinary bladder more than it should be (the pain factor)!. It can rupture, and historically, it has been known to happen, Tyco Brahe the astronomer died because he ruptured his urinary bladder and got a massive internal infection from it!. He was at a banquet, and it was impolite to leave the table before the host, so he held it in until it popped !.!.!.!.!. talk about mental strength!.!.!.!.

And yes, you can develop not only infections, but also kidney stones because you are letting urea sit there for a while and if it concentrates up, it will form deposits which will be most painful!.!.!.

In any case, use of public bathrooms isn't a problem if you wash properly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it can make you more prone to bladder infections and UTIs to let urine fester in your bladder for that long, because your urine has a lot of bacteria in it !. It also is a problem if you are holding it so long that it is really painful to you, because your bladder can theoretically burst, but you would probably wet yourself before that ever happened unless you have some pretty insane willpower!. Anyway, it really isn't that big of a deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
