Advice needed from people with, or people who know, hypermobile joint syndrome.?!

Question: Advice needed from people with, or people who know, hypermobile joint syndrome!.!?
Hi all,

I have hypermobile joints, they crack and crunch like an orchestra and I can do party-tricks like pulling my fingers to 90 degrees against my hand etc etc!. Normally this doesn't bother me too much, just get used to the cracking, but the last few days I've had a lot of pain in my joints!. My hips and knees are aching to the point I really can't fall asleep easily at night, I can never get comfortable sitting or lying down, I can't even stand for long periods of time!. I want to be as proactive on this as possible, can anyone recommend anything that will help!? I don't really want to pop painkillers, so do things like yoga or massage help!? Is there any specific type of exercise I can do that will prevent these flare-ups!? Any tips anyone has I would be very grateful for!. In case it makes a difference I am 25 years old, I might be a little overweight, but not too much, I go to the gym 3-4 times per week but I do have a very sedentry (office-based) job!.

Thanks very much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I've got hypermobile joint syndrome as well all thought mine effects my shoulders more than my legs so not entirely similar!. A few things that i would say is I always found yoga to help thought not if you push yourself too far, and any kind of exercise that jolted the problematic joints always resulted in pain the next day!. I'd avoid running as exercise in your case and stick to rowing or cycling!. My shoulders always tend to dislocate less when the muscle around are strong also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
