duration isn't the issue, it's intensity
if you take your headphones off and hold them about 6" from your head, and you can hear any noise coming from them, then it's too loud

Medically i don't know, but from my own experience of drum playing I know noise affects the eardrums, I am now profoundly deaf, caused by this, we were never told to cover our ears when i was a youngster!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
