Answers:
The condition is called shin splints!. It comes from when the muscle(tibialis anterior) pulls on the bone(tibia)!. The bone is lined with a material called periosteum!. The muscle needs to be strengthened to stop this condition!. This can be done either sitting or standing!. If it is available take a piece of wood(2x4) about 18" long!. Place you heels on it and the toes on the floor!. If you have an ankle weight place it across the front of the foot!. If you don't place your other foot on top of the foot on the board!. Slowly lift the front of the foot up as high as it will go while maintaining heel contact with the board!. Do this ten times with each foot and repeat twice more!. A stretch that can also be done is to sit on your heels and slowly lift your knees up as far as possible and keep the weight on your heels!. Hold for 19 to 15 seconds and do a few times!. This should take away the problem!. It is not going to go away immediately so use ice on the area post exercise(treadmill) for fifteen minutes after the stretching has been done!. Get good running shoes!. Consider a different machine if nothing improves!. Also as a last thought see a podiatrist and check if orthotics might not help the problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well it's probably when you run it's a hard impact on your shins so maybe you should stick to light walking!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try a slower pace, stretch and start out slow, or move to the elliptical trainer for more support on your legs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
